1) Do you know the difference between tax assessment, market assessment & reconstruction value when it comes to
insuring your home ?
2) Does your insurance contract have guaranteed replacement cost on your building a/o contents ?
3) Are all your jewellery, furs, collectibles, art, antiques, boats etc... properly appraised & insured ?
4) Does your existing insurance contract cover you adequately based on your lifestyle & personal needs ?
5) Has it been less than 2 years since you have reviewed you insurance contracts ?
6) Do you know what you are covered for on your automobile insurance contract ?
7) Do you have any endorsements on your automobile insurance contract that would cover you for a rental vehicle or
supplementary accident benefits ?

Questions to ask your representative about your Home / Tenant / Condo insurance.
1) What kind of home / tenant / condo insurance coverage do I have on my policy ? (named perils - all risk)
2) What's not covered in my home / tenant / condo insurance package ? (common exclusions...)
3) Are there certain risks or potential hazards for which I can't buy insurance ? (flood, wear & tear...)
4) Is optional coverage available for risks/hazards that are normally not covered on home / tenant / condo policies ? (earthquake, sewer backup, mass evacuation)
5) What things could happen to my property that won't be covered unless I make special arrangements ? (freezing of indoor plumbing...)
6) What are some items that might require additional insurance ? (jewellery, collectibles, furs...)
7) What is my deductible ? What are my savings for increasing my deductible ? (higher
deducible=saving)
8) What discounts am I entitled to ? What other discounts are available ? (alarm, mortgage free...)
9) On what basis are claims on my policy going to be settled ? (actual cash value / replacement cost)
10) Should I make a claim with every loss ? What are the consequences ? (pros vs cons)
11) What does my Liability cover me for & what are the limits on my policy ? (negligence...)
